Oh hey!
The Canadian Standardbred Network is looking for well cared for and presentable horse and rider/handler pairs to participate as members of the CSN Demo Team. The more variety the better. English, Western, Gymkhana, Hunter/Jumper, Eventer, Driving, Trick Horses, etc. If you can do it, we want to see it.
To apply please fill out the form on our website, and include any relevant photos. Video footage is also highly encouraged and recommended to show us exactly what you and your Standardbred can do.
To clarify, this is not a submission for critic or to receive suggestions or guidance. It is more of a safety screening to ensure we can represent the breed to the best of our abilities.
Participants are required to be both members of CSN and their provincial equestrian federation.
Currently, majority of the events the Demo Team will be travelling to will take place in Alberta, Canada.
Canadian Standardbred Network has a number of demos planned for the future where horse and rider teams will be needed. Duties include riding in demos, as well as spending time at information booths talking to the public. You are responsible for the transportation of both you and your horse to and from demonstrations as well as your accommodations. There will be demos taking place in Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary and the surrounding areas.
Appropriate attire and turnout is required – Don't panic! We want to represent the breed with our best foot forward, which means a little extra elbow grease. Not necessarily a top hat and tails.
There will be CSN Demo Team Merch available that may be partially subsidized by CSN, but the remaining cost is to be covered by the Demo Team Member. (e.g. CSN purchases the shirt – member covers the cost of embroidery.) The team is also encouraged to build their own fundraising ventures to help off set these costs.
If you have any questions feel free to comment here or email canadianstandardbrednetwork@gmail.com
